A quality wrap, fitted well, can look showroom-fresh for years. We have seen the same wraps age brilliantly and age badly, and nine times out of ten the difference is not the film, it is how the car was washed. Look after it and it rewards you.
None of this is hard. It is mostly about avoiding a few things that quietly wreck a wrap over time.
The do-nots
No automatic car washes, ever. Those spinning brushes drag grit across the film, lift edges and dull the finish, and they are the fastest way to age a wrap. Skip harsh solvent cleaners, petrol and bug removers with strong chemicals too.
Do not let bird mess, fuel spills or bug splatter sit. They are acidic and will stain a wrap if they bake on, especially a matte or satin finish. Wipe them off gently as soon as you can.
The dos
Hand wash with a pH-neutral car shampoo and two buckets, or a touchless pressure wash. Dry with a clean microfibre. That is genuinely most of it.
Park in the shade or undercover when you can, because constant harsh UV ages any wrap faster. And if a small edge ever lifts, bring it in early, an easy fix now beats a peeling panel later.
