The Aussie Sun Is Wrecking Your Paint. Here Is How to Stop It

Catch us on the gram

@pimpmycar_aus

The Australian sun is brutal on cars. Park anything outside long enough here and the UV goes to work: paint dulls and fades, clear coat starts to peel, dashes crack, and dark interiors bake to a hard, faded mess. It is the single biggest enemy of a car that lives outdoors.

You cannot move the sun, but you can armour the car against it. Three layers do most of the heavy lifting.

Ceramic for the paint

A ceramic coating puts a hard, UV-resistant layer over your clear coat, slowing the fade and oxidation that turns a rich colour chalky. It also keeps the surface slick and glossy, so the paint looks wet-fresh instead of sun-tired, and washing stays easy.

On a car that lives outside, it is the difference between paint that still pops in three years and paint that has gone flat.

Tint for the inside, film for the chips

Window tint is your interior's sunscreen. A quality film blocks up to 99% of UV, which is what stops the dash cracking and the seats fading, and it rejects the heat that turns a parked car into an oven. Your skin on a long drive will thank you too.

And on the paint that faces the sun and the stones head-on, PPF adds a physical UV-stable layer over the highest-value panels. Together, ceramic, tint and film cover the three ways the sun and road gang up on a car.

Sun-proof your car

Whether the car lives on a driveway or a work site, we will build the right mix of ceramic, tint and film to keep it looking new through a few more Aussie summers. Send us the details for a quote.
