We call them stealth conversions: take a gloss car, wrap every panel in satin-finish paint protection film, and hand back something that looks factory-built in a finish the factory never offered.
One layer does two jobs. The car changes character completely, and from that day on, stone chips, scratches and road rash hit the film instead of the paint. The film self-heals light marks, and when you eventually peel it off, showroom gloss paint is still sitting underneath.
Recent stealth builds
A Defender and a Mercedes came in together from two owners who clearly share good taste. A monster Tundra went from gloss white to full satin. A Jaguar F-Pace converted from gloss red to a smooth satin finish that gets photographed at every set of lights. The GLC63 S got the full treatment: satin conversion, ceramic tints, headlight and tail-light film.
Is it right for your car?
If you love your car, plan to keep it a few years, and want a finish nobody else on your street has, this is the build. It costs more than a vinyl wrap because the film is thicker, self-healing and warrantied for up to ten years, but it is genuinely two services in one.
We run stealth conversions in both Melbourne and Perth. Spots are limited because each car holds a bay for several days, so get in early.
